Expanding on my previous work Is There More?, Is This All That Remains is suspended from a single point, these linen panels hang loosely in the space, their charcoal figures drawn entirely from memory, family members from gatherings that can no longer be reconstructed, and were never photographed. The panels face away from the viewer. To see the figures at all, you have to move around them, catch them from certain angles, piece together glimpses rather than a single clear image.
The wire holding the work in the air is left visible. Nothing about how the piece is supported is hidden.
This difficulty of access is not incidental. It mirrors the experience of trying to retrieve a memory with no photograph to confirm it: you know it is there, you cannot fully see it, and it never resolves into one complete, stable image, no matter how long you stand in front of it, or how you move.
