Gereh- Fragments of linen, stained with tea before anything is drawn, are worked with charcoal figures from memory of family gatherings, then torn and knotted together into a single hanging form. The tears are not hidden or smoothed over; the knots joining the fragments make no attempt to disguise that a tear happened at all. At every torn edge, loose threads extend past the knot, left as they are rather than trimmed away or tucked back in.

In Persian, the word Gereh means both "knot" and "problem" — the thing that is tied, and the thing that still has to be worked through. The piece is built on that double meaning: separate, damaged fragments held together without being resolved into one another, the loose threads making clear that no knot, however carefully tied, can hold everything.
